Had a rapturous welcome this weekend in lovely Belper at Dawn & Lee’s wedding, Makeney Hall. The speeches finished and there was a vacuum, so I stepped into the room and announced my presence to the crowd, before drawing the entire head table within the first 20 minutes. The audience loved it and laughter plus applause rained down.
I wondered why they were so keen then realised the bride had been bigging me up before hand, as recommended. Later I learnt that Dawn had booked me a couple of years ago – BEFORE the venue was confirmed and insisted “We’re not getting married without George!”
Now that’s what makes a successful wedding reception, preparation and enthusiasm. The day was a huge success.
